Spring Project 2016
Project Description:
We'll be learning about anamorphic images, conic sections, cones, Apollonius of Perga, and the 3-D cartesian coordinate system to construct an image inside and outside of a cone. We'll be combining our final products to create a large display and exhibit our math knowledge through beautiful art.
Apollonius of Perga:
* "The Great Geometer"
* Greek geometer and astronomer
*Studied under Euclid
*Introduced the terms: parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola
*Studied conic sections and influenced later scholars such as Isaac Newton and Rene Descartes
